Germany, Czech Republic (and UK)

We know, we are again late, it is August already and we have not written anything since our last post about Slovenia and Austria (where we were in May…). The truth is that writing these posts seems a bit of drag but here we are writing again as it is the only way to have a travel journal to remember our adventures!

After Austria, we were in southern Bavaria in Germany and we really liked it. There are beautiful landscapes and villages with a very peculiar style. Among our visits we can highlight Mittenwald, a small town among mountains in which the paintings of its facades gives it a special charm.

After visiting several villages in the area and going to the mechanic, we went to Munich. It is not one of the prettiest cities in Germany but we were parked in “Englischer Garten” which was great, especially to be in the center of a capital like Munich. It is a big park full of life, people enjoying the river and the lake, with cyclists and even surfers!

Next we made a stop along the way and flew to England as we were expecting the arrival of a new member of Tom’s family. The beautiful Abigail arrived a little late but allowed us some time with her, as always it was a pleasure to spend a few days with the Bourdons! We also met up with the Gutiérrez side of the family. My parents and the apple of my eyes, my nephews Sisco and Carla, made a trip to London and spent a long weekend with us. The truth is that it was great, we walked a lot and we were able to visit the highlights of the city with a luxury guide, Tom. We even saw the Queen twice, that same weekend the spectacular celebration of her birthday took place. Ten days in England that again gave us moments that will remain in our memories forever and fill us with happiness.

After leaving Germany we went to the Czech Republic. Our first stop was Pilsen, nothing special … In case you happen to go there some day, you can perfectly save yourself the visit to the brewery, especially if you have already visited other wineries. Prague was a must because of its fame, surely many of you have been or have heard about it. It is known to be very beautiful but we did not find it so special. We won’t say that it is not pretty, it is, but we have seen many other towns and cities that we liked more than Prague. Our favorite visit in the Czech Republic was the town of Telc, declared World Heritage Site by Unesco in 1992. Although vestiges of Roman origin are preserved, it was founded in the middle of the 14th century and has a beautiful Plaza Mayor full of colorful Renaissance facades.
