Italy: discovering Tuscany – part 2

After Viareggio, we left the coast and entered the heart of Tuscany. The truth is that it has so many beautiful towns and places that it becomes very difficult to make a selection of favorites! Undoubtedly, the Etruscan heritage has given them a charm and a character that makes them special.

We visited Lucca (whose impressive wall stands out), Volterra (with beautiful views of the Tuscan landscape), San Gimignano (with its medieval towers), Siena (with one of the most beautiful squares in Italy) and, of course, Florence.

What shall I say about Florence that you do not know, that it is full of art in every corner, it is not surprising that Stendhal felt overwhelmed by so much beauty. Although in my case, it is enough to contemplate David’s statue by Miqueangelo for a few seconds so that my heart accelerates and I start to feel dizzy… And it is not because he is a (very handsome) naked man, do not think badly, tears fell down my face on the day I was staring at the Pietà in the Vatican… It is the total merit of the maestro Miquelangelo, his delicate touch, sensitivity and absolute perfection that came from his hands make anyone who appreciates art feel excited.

After leaving Tuscany, we headed to Bologna without knowing what we would find along the way… But we’ll talk about that next post!
